Workshop # 1 AND # 4: 2.30 - 3.45 p.m. and 4.15 - 5.30 p.m.

Orthopaedic Massage, Pain Management & Sports Injury with James Waslaski

This is a double workshop in order to cover as much material on this subject as possible.  It is recommended that you attend both sessions.

James Waslaski will introduce his unique multidisciplined approach to in jury treatment.This workshop will be structured in a way that the participant leaves with a working knowledge and emphasis on restoring  pain free range of motion throughout the body and integrating structural balance.  Practitioners will be introduced to chronic pain and other injury conditions with emphasis on understanding and correcting the causes and pathology of each specific condition.
James Waslaski returns for the second time to our AGM at the start of his five-day intensive Orthopaedic Massage, Pain Management & Sports Injury International Seminar Series in Ireland. Workshop # 2 :        2.30 - 3.45 p.m.

Tuina Traditional Chinese Medical Acupressure Workshop with James O’Sullivan L.Ac (China)

Tuina Acupressure is a form of touch therapy that utilises the principles of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine. In Tuina acupressure, the same points on the body are used as in acupuncture, but are stimulated with finger pressure instead of with the insertion of needles.
During the workshop James  will give a brief introduction to what Tuina Acupressure can do and, more importantly , where caution needs to be taken in stimulating some of the acu-points. He will demonstrate basic techniques and encourage participants to practice these to use the human body’s own acu-points to influence the part of the brain that responds to stress, and results in conditioning this part of the nervous system to achieve relaxation and remain calm and tranquil, aiding healing and rejuvenation.

James O'Sullivan is a practitioner and lecturer of traditional Chinese medicine and other complementary medical disciplines with a busy practice in Galway and Lucan. He is also a visiting lecturer to Beijing University of Chinese medicine  www.activehealth.ie

Workshop # 3: 2.30 - 3.45 p.m.

Social Networking  & Blogging for Therapists with Aoife Gaffney

In this workshop Aoife Gaffney, IMTA member, therapist and social networking consultant will introduce the very topical subject of  blogging and social networking for therapists. She will cover the following topics

*    What works and what does not work on a web site
*    Why blogging is a critical element of your overall social media strategy
*    How to set up and write a blog , dealing with "writers block" will be included
*    Setting up Facebook and Twitter accounts for business
*    The different ways that you can use Facebook and Twitter to market your business
*    How to get started, how to stop if you change your mind
*    How to use all you have learned to make more money with less effort

Workshop # 54.15 - 5.30 p.m.

Ayurvedic Massage with Marie Mills

Marie will give a brief introduction into this ancient holistic medicine. Ayurveda is the traditional medicine of India, and its oil massage is the first therapy towards rebalancing the flow of Prana or Life source energy. Ayurveda's oil massage is very simple, yet it has complex and profound results with each client, due to its foremost objective is to soothe the nervous system (the Vata Dosha)

The key points and various types of Ayurvedic Massage will be covered during this workshop. The facial techniques demonstrated and the basic theory behind them. Time permitting, what is recommended for the preparation of the therapist and the patient will also be included.

Workshop # 6 :       4.15 - 5.30 p.m.

Heal your Life - Louise L Hay Philosophy with Loretta Whelan

After a brief personal introduction on how this philosophy worked on a personal level for Loretta she will then cover :
*   The basics of Positive Affirmations and Visualisations with an understanding of how to create your own        after this workshop.   Benefit for therapists here to manifest and maintain clients and use their skills to create many new opportunities.
*     How illness in the body can relate to the emotions. This is very insightful for therapists and their clients,  using examples of common client complaints and probable causes.

*     Experiential interactive exercises to highlight limiting beliefs and then how we can easily change thoughts for the better to remedy this.
*     Tips on how to Love Yourself exactly as you are
*     Guided meditation, music and deep breathing for relaxation
