The IMTA was founded almost 20 years ago and is one of the most respected associations in the complementary field of healthcare in Ireland today. We are a self-regulating Association and we promote and encourage high standards in training, on-going education and practice.

We are recognised by the Department of Health & Children as the national association for massage/bodywork therapists in Ireland. We pride ourselves on protecting our members’ interests with a supportive, professional approach, while at the same time, providing the general public with access to professional therapists and up-to-date research and developments in the complementary therapy field.

In addition to the many networking and support advantages of being a member of the IMTA, we have an extremely competitive group insurance scheme and have recently launched a nation-wide Discount Scheme for all your massage oils and supplies.    If you are a massage or body/work therapist it makes financial sense to join the IMTA and then access the many other advantages of membership.
